Established in 1907, Tripler
Hospital was named after The American Civil War medic Brigadier
General Charles Stuart Tripler in 1920. It is inspired by the Attack
on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Designed by architect Robert P. Thompson,
the concept of the design was to facilitate a place of solace for
soldiers recovering both mentally and physically.
